SPF and why it is SO important
With warmer weather quickly approaching sunscreen use should be a no brainer in my opinion! I have been using sunscreen every day as the last step in my skincare routine for the last 10+ years. The suns UV rays can cause issues like discoloration, fine lines and wrinkles. Most importantly, being over exposed to UV light puts you at risk for developing skin cancer. There are two different types of sunscreen; mineral and chemical. Each type uses a different mechanism for filtering UV rays protecting your skin from the sun. Chemical sunscreens are absorbed into the top layer of your skin and react with your skin to absorb the UV rays whereas mineral sunscreen acts as a blocker where it actually blocks the UV rays from your skin. Everyone has a personal preference, mine is mineral with the highest level of zinc possible.
